mexican-mining-tragedy: Mother and daughter, Juanita Silva, right, and Laura Calzoncit, left, embrace each other during a minute of silence outside the mine in San Juan de Sabinas. Juanita is the sister and Laura the neice, of Jose Alfredo Silva, one of the 65 miners killed in the accident. For over a week friends and family of the trapped miners have waited and prayed for the recovery of the miners. However, officials announced they were suspending rescue efforts in the mine due to dangerous levels of methane gas. They are expected to resume recovery efforts soon, but have conceded they no longer expect to find any survivors.
